Alphabet Bags

Alphabet Bags is an accessories brand creating lovely items with an emphasis on the simple, bold and cheerful. Alphabet Bags is owned by husband and wife team, Lucas & Hayley who live in Saffron Walden.

Alphabet Bags was born in their spare room in East Dulwich in 2008 as a result of their shared love of typography, the alphabet and simple totes.

We hope you like their range of honest, fun, typographic pouched which Lucinda has chosen especially for us mums!

Avery Row

We became friends over 10 years ago whilst living and working in the Big Apple. In the city that never sleeps, we dreamed big about the future and of one day embarking on our own business venture.

After further stints working abroad and more travel, we both ended up back in our hometown of London. A husband each, little kiddies in tow and numerous interior design projects under our belts (last count 9 house moves!), we decided the time seemed right to chase down those New York dreams.

We both loved the fresh colours and soft geometric inspired prints from our years abroad. A palette of vibrant colours, beautiful prints, and the art of mixing and matching it all together. But when it came to buying things for our homes, our babies, or children's bedrooms we couldn't find what we were looking for on these shores.

So we decided to design a product that would showcase what we're all about. Something stylish for mum or dad and playful as well as luxurious for baby. Something useful that you can take everywhere, and not compromise your own style. Something that makes you feel happy when you look at it in the same way your handbag used to before you had to trade it in for the “mummy bag” that transports rice cakes, nappies and wipes.

And there's more to come. We're working on using our designs to create a beautiful nursery.

Bare Biology

Bare Biology was started by Melanie Lawson, a mother of three who suffered severely from postnatal depression. Omega 3 had been a life saver to Melanie as a mother of three young children, and she was a complete convert. As she couldn’t hunt down a supplement that was strong enough to work, fresh enough to taste good, in a form she could absorb, and with clear proof of being 100% pure, Melanie decided to make it herself.

Melanie finally found her manufacturer in a tiny fishing town in the far north of Norway. Bare Biology have used them for all their products ever since, alongside their fabulous capsule-makers and bottlers here in England.

After reading Melanie’s story on our blog, which you can read here, we are all converts too!

Bare Biology have been stocked in Liberty since 2013. Hot on their heels were Space NK, Whole Foods, As Nature Intended, man more & off course Nurturing Mums!

Blade & Rose

Blade & Rose is a leading British children’s clothing brand specialising in a trendsetting range of leggings and clothing accessories. Blade & Rosewas created in 2010 whilst designer Amanda was on maternity leave. Which ultimately led the company to be namedafter her childrens middle name ‘Blade’ and ‘Rose’. Each piece of the collection is unique and has the trademark design on the bum. A major component of the development was to ensure that the quality of the fabric was durable, functional, would wash well and most importantly, that was soft and kind to children’s delicate skin. The initial range quickly sold out and now the British family business has stockists all over the world including Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Greece, Japan, China, Taiwan, UAE, New Zealand and Australia & is now extensively rolling out in the USA. Blade & Rose will continue to extend the clothing range with matching accessories and new designs.

Blossom and Bear

Blossom and Bear was founded by Bristol based mum of three, Sarah, with an aim to provide fun, colourful and lovingly made gifts for you, your children and the home. Named after her little girl Mae - the blossom, and little boy Reed- the bear, most of my products have been conceived from her day to day at home with them.

We stock Blossom & Bear’s gorgeous teethers – stylish, practical & soothing – what more could you want?!

Carly Dove

Carly Dove jewellery is inspired by her two small children, who broke or tried to eat all her favourite necklaces.

Lamenting the inability to accessorise her mum uniform, she looked for a solution. She now uses a combination of crochet, Liberty print, juniper wood and silicone to create quirky teething and baby safe jewellery at her home in South East London.

All her work is created from baby safe materials (nothing scratchy, fragile or toxic), and is robust enough to withstand the rough and tumble that comes with parenting two under four.

She's super happy to be part of the Nurturing Mums store!

Claude & Co.

The name Claude & Co is inspired from our very favourite and curious cat Claude, with his adventurous style and individual personality to match. If you're not a cat person, it's ok, we don't sell cats!

Etta Loves

Sat on her sofa with a heap of mucky muslins by her side, Jen Fuller realised that 4-week old little Etta was staring at her top. It was the first thing she’d noticed her actively trying to focus on and unsurprisingly it was a simple black and white pattern.

After a month of trying to rotate black and white clothing (which got both difficult and boring) this got Jen thinking; why isn’t one of the most seen items by babies designed to stimulate them and capture their attention? And why wouldn’t you use medical knowledge of babies' visual development to make them the best that they could be at doing this? And while you’re at it they should be stylish...

Functional, developmental and stylish muslins are what Jen wanted to create.

Etta Loves muslins are not only practical, super-soft, absorbent 100% cotton, but they have been designed with input from an early years visual expert, to ensure that they stimulate babies' visual and cognitive development. As such the range is split between 0-4 months and 5+ months.

As an added bonus they look fabulously stylish, so whoever uses them will look great, regardless of which bodily fluid they might be trying to catch…

Fabelab

Fabelab’s products are designed by Michaela W-B, an Austrian architect living and working in Copenhagen and her small team of talented designers. Michaela has embraced Scandinavian design principles, taking inspiration from the stories of people around her, her background as an architect and stage designer, and her two young girls who continuously push for imaginative and purposeful playthings. Her design process often begins with folding paper, and she loves the simplicity of geometric shapes that can be interpreted individually.

Fig & Bloom

Fig & Bloom are Stephanie, Caroline and Dorothy. They were brought together by a love of wholesome food… and their children. Stephanie and Dorothy were chatting on a North London school run in 2014 when they discovered a shared passion for creating delicious food based on nutritional science.

Dorothy, a cook and caterer, confessed to being a wannabe nutritionist, and Stephanie, a registered nutritional therapist, admitted to being a wannabe chef. They decided to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with people to help improve health and wellbeing; showing them how to prepare fresh, delicious and nutrient-rich meals specific to their needs and rooted in science. Ex food buyer and management consultant Caroline, a fellow school run buddy, joined as co-owner and commercial director (i.e. everything that isn't nutrition or cooking). And so Fig & Bloom was born.

They don’t talk diets, only fresh, vibrant and wholesome food and nutrition that works for each individual client, their specific health needs, and their lifestyle. As well as their lovely handy pregnancy and postnatal nutrition and recipe packs, they provide private consultations, bespoke meal plans and recipes, nutrition and cookery workshops and workplace healthy eating talks.

The Fox In The Attic

The Fox In The Attic was founded by Michelle, who in 2010 purchased a sewing machine and rediscovered her passion for embroidery, and made her first soft animal toy (a bunny). By 2011 she had  begun selling her creations!

She takes inspiration from a huge range of people, places and things: from travel (Sicily, Paris, Amsterdam, Cornwall) to Art (Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, Beatrix Potter) to world history (medieval tapestries/illustrated manuscripts), and the Arts & Crafts movements spear-headed by William Morris.

Lara & Ollie

Anna & Lesley’s children, Lara & Ollie, are the inspiration behind their business. They’re two mums in South East London who love jewellery & accessories but chose to put it away when they had their babies due to grabbing fingers & chewy mouths.

Lennie & Co.

Lennie & Co create unisex clothing for kids, that feature playful prints that capture the fun of being little. Each item is hand screen printed in their home in Devon.

They are a home grown business inspired by the life of Lennie, owner Amy’s 3 year-old son. His happiness, his innocence and his endless chattering. Mix that with a Print Designer for a Mummy and what do you get?

It actually all began block printing bunting with Lennie one Saturday afternoon on the kitchen table at Nannies and the rest is history.

The nature of the printing method for our personalised t-shirts means each item is made specifically for you and no two will ever match. The pieces will not mimic the mass produced garments you find on the high street.

Speaking from experience this will make your life a lot easier when you're changing your baby for the millionth time in a frazzled sleep deprived haze.

To protect your lil' cubs planet, and their skin, we only use eco friendly dyes. So a lil' bit of fading may occur.

Matchstick Monkey

Matchstick Monkey is a fun flexible baby teething applicator which aids pain relief getting teething gels and granules right to the source of the pain.

"I did all I could by trying to apply pain relief gels / oils and granules directly to the source of the pain but I just couldn't get past her front teeth without constantly getting bitten. For those that have gone through this process before, you already know how painful a single bite can be.

I could not find anything on the market that could help me to get past those first few teeth and massage the teething gel to my daughter's sore gums without getting badly bitten. So when I gave birth to my second daughter Coco, Matchstick Monkey was born."

Spacemasks logo

Spacemasks.com

Spacemasks are new. Brand new.

They were created out of a collision of intergalactic material coming explosively together with a little human imagination. A flash of inspiration with an end product.

We wanted to find a way to escape the madness of our hectic lifestyles and leave our Worldy problems behind. Space travel seemed a reasonable possibility - new horizons, a clean start, no social media.

The cost of astronaut training and 4000 tonnes of rocket fuel made us think out of the box. So we came up with a box. A box of spacemasks in fact. 5 perfectly formed pouches each containing a heavenly Spacemask - capable of whisking you away to a carefree world unpolluted by Earthly distractions.

So there you have it. Spacemasks were born.

It is still early days after our launch but we already have 1000s of grateful space travellers.
We hope you too will enjoy the flight.

Wonder & Rah

Prints, posters and alphabet art perfect for your kid's room or nursery, from a contemporary and design led decor brand.

Yes Mum

These wonderful affirmation cards are designed by Hollie de Cruz whose background is in hypnobirthing.

Hollie’s hypnobirthing story began when she found out she was pregnant with her son. She was very excited, but absolutely terrified of giving birth. She was convinced that she would be in excruciating pain, that her baby would be too big for her small frame, that she would be screaming and shouting her way down the labour ward before giving birth in a corridor.

At the recommendation of friends, Hollie went on a hypnobirthing course which she found amazing. It opened her eyes to the true beauty of childbirth, and empowered her to trust in her body and her baby. Over the weeks, she was taught simple self-hypnosis along with some wonderful relaxation and breathing techniques. Before sheknew it, she could take herself into a state of deep relaxation.
